Words From A Young Investor

Many young adults don’t realize the essence of investing. They are more occupied on things that won’t make them financially secured in the future. They are avoiding the responsibilities and obligations and are more concentrated on things that will make them happy today and tomorrow but never in the future.

Some of my batch in High School is now independent and business wise while some of them are just the same: Child-like who wants fun and party rather than planning about their future. They can even pay for an expensive gadget that will only depreciate later on. I have also acquaintances in college who doesn’t want to invest because of many excuses.

“I am poor, I don’t have money.”

A poverty mentality creates destructive thoughts. People always think about what’s missing in their life rather than thinking about prosperity. They often complain rather than making solutions. I know someone who’s living in a squatter’s area. They’re living there since she was born and they’re living there for free. I advised her to invest in their own property where they can live with utmost security and tranquility but she said “I can’t afford that.” I know some people will agree with her but NO, it’s a poverty mentality. Informal settlers usually declined to invest in their own property because they are already have one and it’s free. The reason why they chose to squat in someone’s property rather than building their own home in their own lot is because they don’t want responsibility.

“I’m still young. Investments are for oldies.”

Imagine yourself twenty years from now, you’re on your forties maybe fifties and you still have no investments. I met this woman who lives in an apartment with her family for almost thirty years! She’s been paying her monthly rent since she started having her own family and I was surprised because of these words, “If I am wise during my time back then, maybe I have a lot of properties now and I am more financially secured.” I was enlightened upon hearing those words from her, I just realized that I am on the right track and I must share this to everyone.

Everyone can have a better life in the future regardless of what you’ve been going through today. Remember, there is no permanent in this world. We are the architect of our own destiny. It’s better to plan today than to face many problems later on. Plan for your future. Start young…

Stop Hating…Stop Bullying…

Our judgments are worse that what Miss Salvosa said to Miss Casinas. We didn’t saw the whole story. We do not know the “real story” behind the incident. We have no RIGHT to judge people based on a “sliced video of what happened.” Always remember that “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

Yes, the student may be rude to the lady guard. She even scolded her in front of the crowd. What she did is wrong and is subject for harassment and public disturbance, but we should give her a benefit of the doubt. She’s young and emotional. Maybe her side story is true, maybe not.

She’s a bully, yes. But aren’t we? People are making fake accounts on her name and picture on it. Some are making hate pages for her. On some reports she was kicked out from school and her family is very devastated of what happened.

Read the report here to learn more and tell me what you think.

Good night folks!

Fire your bad employees!

“Happy customers will buy more from you and tell more people about you.”

How about…unhappy customers won’t buy from you and tell people bad things about you? Scary right??

Employees, trainees, crew or any person who represent your company can make a big impact on your business.

Lemme tel you a story…

A sales agent came to our office this morning and wants to pull out the wireless phone we availed because we didn’t settle it’s bill. He said it’s his accountability because he’s forced to pay for it plus it was deducted to his salary. Now, he was asked to pull it out from our office…well..according to him. But he doesn’t have any proofs or authorization to do that.

We didn’t allow him of course. Why? Because we’re not that bad…. Confusing right? Aren’t we bad because we didn’t settle the bill even though it’s only $49? We caused him trouble according to him. Plus, he didn’t get his salary because of us.

He came to our office, arrogantly said his concern, blaming us for not getting his salary…whoa, wait… Who is he again? A sales agent? Arrogantly entered our office? Harassing me and my co-workers? Forcing me to give my boss’ number? Talking with loud voice?

I think I already saw that scene..Hmm..Oh! An angry customer in a movie!!! But wait, we are the client here. NOT you.

So why we didn’t pay the bill?

Simple. Poor signal. Poor battery. Bad customer service.

Our officer in charge asked him our concern regarding the service many times but there’s no feedback.

Why we didn’t allow him to get the phone?

Legal matters. I don’t like to pity him when he’s already in jail. He’s out of seminary and is going to be a priest soon. We don’t want him to suffer because of his “little knowledge”. I’m still annoyed by his actions…but sometimes we must consider things before we act. Our OIC wants to file a written complaint because of his actions towards his clients but thought it’s just a waste of time. But somehow, we should teach people their lessons.

Note: There’s no such thing as “If you’re client won’t pay, you pay.”

Anyway, I forgot to tell you that our OIC was ready to settle the bill this morning. However, due to unexpected circumstances when the sales agent barged in, our OIC decided to prolong the payment and let him suffer. HAHA >:)

Have a good night everyone!!! *Yawn*

“My People Left Me, But He Didn’t”

“I was all alone, people kept talking about something that is hurtful. I tried to smile but still they judge me as if I’m a sinner. I don’t know what it is but it really felt bad to see your friends left you. My family is nowhere in sight. My heart beats faster as if I’m about to die. Die. The thing came across my mind. I decided to cut my life short. I ran and cry. Jumped off a high building and see people clapping and cheering seeing me fall down while it rains. Then someone embraced me. I saw His face and I burst into tears. It’s Jesus. He saved me. ‘I’m sorry Papa Jesus, sorry. Sorry! I’m really really sorry. I love You. I won’t do it again.’”

Then I woke up with tears in my eyes. I frowned. It was just a dream. I don’t know what it means but I have no worries. Jesus will always be with me. I closed my eyes with a smile on my face. :)

I’m getting married! Woo-hoo!

“Are you getting married?”

One of the craziest things I heard from my crazy buds. The answer is? No. “Then why are you investing on such properties?” “What is it for?” “Blah-Blah-Blah!”

Seriously?!

My friends and acquaintances my age will never understand the essence of investment. I’m using my money for future profit while they are spending their money on Movie Theater, parties, gadgets, prepaid and internet loads, unnecessary stuff and luxuries.

“You’re rich that’s why you can afford to buy or invest on such things.”

Am I?

Well, I’m just using a cheap mobile phone with no great features unlike your IPhone. My laptop is old and second hand unlike your MacBook. I don’t even have a camera to capture all these amazing things I’m seeing and you’re sharing different photos using your high-quality camera. I can’t afford to leave for a luxurious vacation while you can!

What do I have? Land properties! Sound boring isn’t it?

Land property is a great investment anyone could have (if you’d like to). It will never be depreciated and their values are getting higher every year. That’s why I chose to use my money to acquire such properties instead of buying things that will depreciate soon. Sure, having high-tech gadgets can be cool but I prefer to purchase for what I think is important.

“You need a HUGE amount of money for that.”

Says who? I just need 788.46 ($ 18.77) per month to pay the monthly amortization for an 80sq.m lot then I can have the title after five years.

Reality Check:

(Philippine Currency)

Cellular load: 30/day = 900

Internet: 50/day = 1,500

Total: 2,400 / month

These are necessity for entrepreneurs but you’re just using it for what? Chatting with your online friends? Sending rumors and gossips via text message? (Sigh)

See? This is only an example of how much money you can spare monthly. Yet, you cannot decide if you’re going to spare 788.46 a month for your own subdivision lot?

“I can have that later on.”

When? If the cost of the lot is much higher compared today? Sure! Buy my lot!

You should learn to prioritize things like I did because at the end of the day, you’ll realize that partying isn’t that important after all.

And oh, you can have that later on. :)

This Song Makes Me Cry: Anak (Child)

English Translation

When you were born in this world
Your parents were very happy
And their hands were your light

And your mom and dad
were beside themselves
Watching even when you were asleep

Your mom stayed up nights
preparing your milk
And in the morning you were cradled
by your dad who was so fond of you

Now that you’ve grown
You want to be free
Though they don’t agree
They can’t do anything

You suddenly changed
You became stubborn
And you went against their advice

You didn’t even take into account
what they did for you.

‘Cause what you wanted was
to follow your whim.
You didn’t pay them heed.

The days passed
You lost your way
You fell into bad ways

And the first you approached
was your weeping mother
And her question: “Child,
What happened to you?”

And your eyes welled up
The tears unconsciously fell

Regret was on your mind
You realized you were wrong (3x)

The Trouble With Television

Television can be a very useful thing in our life. Aside from entertainment, we get to have the latest updates about what’s happening around the world, politics, business, science and new inventions. We learn thru informative TV programs and we can enjoy movies featuring our favorite artists.

However, it can also be destructive.

Before, we watched high-quality movies and TV programs where we can learn, understand and gain knowledge. Our movies then were simple and yet have moral lessons particularly to our children. I remember my childhood days where I was inspired to make good deeds, be courteous especially to our elders and grow up as a good person because of watching TV shows like Wansapanataym. Likewise, Sineskwela helped me to understand more about science and it’s easier for me to do Math because of Mathinik.

They’re all gone now.

What happened to our children nowadays?

Television can have a great impact in our lives. Children nowadays become disrespectful, mean, uncaring and cruel. Many parents are more concerned and more worried about what their kids see on TV. Television are here to entertain us. But many people forgot that what we are doing is always right to our children’s eyes.

What should we do?

We don’t need 10 steps to be a good parent nor we need professional person whom we can talk about it.

Be a good role model, that’s it. :)

Why Did I Manage To Stay Calm during a Commotion?

June 23, 2012

“This is harassment!” – The only thing in my mind when I was in the middle of so-called professional people who cannot say something good about their fellowman.

9:00 AM – My boss asked me to send a letter to Mrs. Bliss Reyes and her group just in case he cannot attend the meeting scheduled today at 4:00 PM because he’s in the meeting with one of our good clients.

3:30 PM – I was inside the Estevez Hospital in front of Hemodialysis Center where the letter is addressed to. I knocked on a glass door and asked for Mrs. Reyes, but the old man who opened the door told me that she’s not available. I told him that I have a letter for her (Mrs. Reyes) from my boss. The old man told me to wait outside then I clearly saw that he is talking to a woman inside a small cubicle. He asked me to come in afterwards and then the woman asked me questions about my boss’s whereabouts.

 When things are getting worse:

Suddenly, another woman pointed her finger towards me and accused me as an uneducated person and a fraud. She keeps on cursing and telling me that I have to suffer because of my Boss. I tried to explain and defend my Boss but I just can’t talk because all of them are ranting about things that are irrelevant to the situation. I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. Then Mrs. Reyes arrived and her colleagues went wild and rough towards me aside from this man who apologized because I am the one who received all the offensive words. I felt relieved that this man is well-mannered unlike his group. But then again, these people around me just can’t afford to control themselves and insulted me again. They were like crazy wolves ready to bite me.

I asked them to sign the letter but they didn’t want to. I politely asked them again that I need to go now and I need the duplicate letter but they just ignored me. They demand for my ID, contact number and address and they threatened me also.

I didn’t show any emotions and I just smiled at them saying that, “I understand”. Maybe they noticed that I am not bothered at all that’s why after a few minutes they finally signed the paper. There are two original copies but they gave me the photo copied one. I was like, “OK, it doesn’t matter. This letter can still be a proof in filing a case against them.” So after I respectfully thanked them, I left the building and ride a jeepney with a smile on my face.

Why are they mad?

My boss wanted to cancel their transaction because of his clients ( Mrs. Reyes and her colleagues ) arrogant behavior and he was really offended by the things that comes from their mouth. And I witnessed it myself.

Why I didn’t fight them back?

I am a well-bred young woman and have a high respect for people. Our company especially my Boss trained me to be as calm as possible in every situation. He told me that it’s okay to be humiliated than to cause harm to others.

 Lesson I’ve learned:

I realized that I am a better person than they are. They may have a degree, money and profession but their deeds and actions are indecent and ill-mannered. I realized that being a professional person will be worthless if you have no respect for your fellowmen. Their accusations are all hearsay; it means that their minds are far from being an educated person. My words, “I understand” is like a poison to them because an “uneducated” person like me can easily comprehend. Most importantly, I am observing their behavior when I was sitting in front of them and all I can say is; Your Words Reflect Your Character. :)
